Paddock – The bunker Winston Churchill loved to hate!

Paddock - Standby Cabinet War Rooms

Built between 1939 and 1940, “Paddock” was a protected three storey complex constructed to house the War Cabinet in case of Whitehall, and the underground Cabinet War Room, being under threat. The site chosen was in Dollis Hill, part of the General Post Office’s Research Station.

The site currently owned by Network Homes, and is only occasionally opened to the public, on this occasion as part of Open House London.

Following questions about its low light capabilities, this video was recorded entirely in 4K on the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, and Open Camera app.
